Thúy Vy- Disadvantages of studying abroad

There is an irrefutable fact that more and more people tend to study abroad, which has been very popular in our modern life. But, in my opinion, it has more drawbacks than benefits.

The first disadvantage of studying abroad is the cost is too expensive. For example, an exchange student in England must pay over  £24.000 for tuition fee and the cost of living every year. In many countries, oversea students will have difficulties in finding part-time job to earn more income so that people must think carefully before deciding to study abroad.

An additional drawback of studying abroad is the difficulty in communicating with people. When communicating with foreigners , they often use local dialects which rarely appear in books so many exchange students are not able to understand them.

Another negative aspect is chances of exposed to non-ethical things. It is  irrefutable that there are many cultural differences among countries. So , if people are not accustomed to the new culture, they can have many behaviours which can be non-ethnical.

Last but not least, exchange student will have feeling of loneliness and homesick. When they are far away from home, they will miss their  parents, their relatives, and their friends so much. Although we can keep in touch with parents, relatives and friends by means of email or chatting, it is not the same as face-to face contact.

In conclusion, studying abroad has many weak points so that people must think carefully and ask ourselves if we can overcome it.
